She/Her/Hers

“I believe that telling our stories, first to ourselves and then to one another and the world, is a revolutionary act. It is an act that can be met with hostility, exclusion, and violence. It can also lead to love, understanding, transcendence, and community.” -Janet Mock

About Nicole

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. Looking up therapists can be overwhelming and finding someone you connect with from a bio and pictures is so hard. AND--here you are. Welcome.

I'm Nicole and I started Capital Connections in 2013 after spending time as a teacher in the public school system and then as a counselor in a school setting. While I absolutely loved those jobs, I quickly realized that I wanted to work with people of all ages and help them to live their best, most authentic lives, which for most of us, is not done in school 🙂

My clinical work is founded on the belief that the world is particularly hard to navigate for those of us with intersections of identity that have been historically marginalized and that everyone is deserving of love and a life that is fulfilling. I work most frequently with sexual and gender minority individuals including those who are queer, trans, lesbian, gay, bi, enby, ace, Two-Spirit, and/or intersex. People come to me at various points in their journey from exploration to actualization and it is my honor to sit alongside them as we learn to navigate their world together.

I would love to hear more of your story and help you write the newest chapters.
