About Julia

Julia Dematatis is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Maryland and a Nationally Certified Counselor. In sessions with her, you can expect a compassionate, culturally sensitive, and safe environment while developing a deeper sense of self-understanding. Julia utilizes an integrative approach that draws (non-exhaustively) from CBT, person-centered, interpersonal, and existential theories. Her style is warm, direct, and reflective of her sense of humor and personality.

Julia completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a Counseling focus in 2014 and graduated with her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019. She has worked with adolescents and adults in private practice settings. Julia enjoys working with anyone who is willing to be honest with themselves to identify opportunities for growth and options for healing–hopefully with some laughter and probably a few tears along the way.

In her free time, Julia is most happy when spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, exercising (the pandemic started her love of mental health walks), traveling, and keeping up with the latest shows.
